PHYSIO-BALL:
Swan Dive Preparation
The
muscles along the spinal column are referred to as back/spinal
extensors. When engaged they stack the vertebrae into good
spinal alignment. These paraspinals must be conditioned for
endurance so that they have the ability to hold the spine in
good alignment all the hours we are awake! When an individual
is hyperkyphotic the upper back spinal extensors are long and
weak and cannot hold the spine erect for more than a moment.
Unfortunately, many golfers possess this condition and are
unable to assume good address posture even on the first tee,
let alone the eighteenth! Obviously, correcting this lack of
muscular endurance would greatly improve the golfer’s
performance. |
